Rennae Wilson
Rennaé Wilson, Year Leader and
Academic Lecturer at Shockout Arts in
Manchester. Rennaé underwent her BA
(Hons) degree in Professional
Commercial Dance at Shockout Arts,
where she also gained her PGCE.
Following an injury which slowed down
her professional career, Rennaé
decided to focus on researching Black
Dance and will soon be studying her
MA with her
research focusing on Black British
Dance; looking at decolonising the
curriculum, and the lack of diversity and
inclusion within the performing arts
industry.
“It is important to me that history is
taught
correctly within the dance industry and
throughout schools, conservatoires and
universities.
This is why being involved in ADDA
fulfils the passion I have for researching, teaching and
being involved in a community that upholds the same values and goals.”
